Most people think that QR codes are just simple squares, but they carry a story far larger than their footprint.

Instant Digital Connection
They move faster than any printed ads, outlast most web links, and bridge one of today’s widest gaps in modern communication: the space between offline moments and digital action.
Earning User Attention
In 2026, rising information clutter and shifting user habits have made attention harder to earn. This calls for experiences that feel clear, relevant, and worth a user’s time. Businesses have to move beyond repetitive, generic content toward more authentic, engaging, and high-quality experiences.
The Power of Choice
QR codes have become a natural part of that shift. They offer choice and complete control so people can decide when, how, and what information they like to consume.
Frictionless Engagement
Each scan reveals more than just interest. It shows intent. It signals readiness, curiosity, and the need for clarity, but without all the pressure and friction.
Our in-depth report reveals how users from across global markets actually use QR codes today. It explores their perceptions, their level of trust, and the barriers that shape their scanning behavior.
Our research examines all the real factors that influence a user’s decision to engage, such as perceptions of source credibility, visual design, expected value, and the points of friction that determine whether a user scans or walks away.
Our findings offer clear, actionable consumer insights and practical guidelines for brands seeking best-practice strategies to maximize scan rates and digital conversion success.

Best QR Code Strategies
A practical guide to strengthening trust, improving usability, and increasing scan performance across all customer touchpoints.

We surveyed 1,548 respondents from across diverse global markets—US, Europe, and Asia Pacific to ensure a broad, multi-regional perspective on QR code behavior. This group reflects an active user base highly familiar with QR codes in their daily routines. With more than half of the respondents aged 25 to 44, our data draws from a key segment of digital consumers.
Our survey used single-choice, multiple-choice, and Likert scale questions to measure views on security, design, friction points, and the value users expect from QR codes. The results reflect the behavior of a digitally fluent, geographically diverse audience.
Phygital—a conjoined term derived from “physical” and “digital”—refers to the seamless blending of offline and online experiences, creating a unified and interactive journey. Tools like QR codes play a central role in this movement, turning real-world touchpoints into digital actions exactly at the right time. So every offline asset is a chance for a digital connection that lasts—and QR codes make that possible.
